Join us when Cassie Augusta Jørgensen’s current solo exhibition at O—Overgaden, Slit Your Click, turns into physical bodies, gazes, singing, and slapstick dialogues in the eponymous performance which can be experienced for the second time in the exhibition space on Thursday 14 December at 7pm and for the third and last time on Saturday 27 January.

Building on the artist’s background in dance, choreography, and showgirlship, the play sees Jørgensen join with actress Clara Dessau, who also plays the lead role in the exhibition’s grand-scale film piece. Together they unfold the story of the chase and meeting between the cis woman Kate (Dessau) and the trans woman The Blonde (Jørgensen).

The performance employs the scenography of the exhibition, of which a main element is a large-scale projection and stage wall with doors and hatches, as stage and backstage. With a plethora of means and references—from erotic legs to glittery transparent trench coat, and quotes from researcher Maxi Wallenhorst and Netflix’s BECKHAM—Jørgensen’s performance pokes at the continuous vilification of the trans woman within our pop culture.
