A letter is complete when it is read. Over the past five months, O—Overgaden’s new collective, social space, O—Rooom, has been renovated to bring its community closer together. Artist Marina Dubia accompanied the process from a distance, looking into questions of presence and the types of relations an exhibition platform can nurture via her ongoing, new work The Voice of My Own Echo—a series of letters, and connected items, written personally to O–Rooom.
On Thursday 30 March at 4.30–5.30 pm, we present an artist talk with Marina Dubia and a collective reading of her series of letters from The Voice of My Own Echo. Drawing on traditions of mail art, her long-term project consists of postal mail and found objects that were sent by Dubia to O—Rooom from Portugal and Brazil.
The event is part of the project Flooding In: From November 2022 to June 2023, Marina Dubia is carrying out a series of performative interactions and workshops in and around O—Overgaden, engaging the local community and examining the physical boundaries that separate the institution from the ‘outside’ world.
The talk and reading will be held in English and is free of charge, as is admission to all of O—Overgaden’s exhibitions.
The event is made possible with support from the A.P. Møller Foundation
